What is SEO?

The goal of this blog is simple - to present, in a clear and straightforward fashion, all that you need to know to get started (and progress) in the world of ‘being a webmaster’.

This will include, for example:

• how to make a website
• how to get traffic to your website
• how to get a website to rank better in the search engines
• tools, resources, directories and suggestions to help improve all the above

So what makes me so clever? Errr, nothing. I’ve been doing it for quite a while, have learned a lot, read a lot, experimented a lot. The intention here is just to speed up the process for anyone in the same position. As time goes by, the posts well get more involved, for the moment they are often ‘introductions’ to subjects.

This site is simply trying to be the site that I wish I had found a couple of years ago when I was starting out. As I learn, the blog will develop.

So will you learn anything worthwhile? I make money online, but I can’t claim that I have yachts, fast cars and mansions all over the world. Perhaps if I followed my own advice more I would do better. That’s part of the reason i am writing them down - it helps clarify things for me as well as anyone else. Happily I don’t need or want flashy things, just enough money to live on, so that’s fine.

Whatever, it’s all free help and advice so take it or leave it! But browse through a couple of sections first, see what you think, and leave a comment. At least you’ll get a free backlink for your troubles.
